When I first spoke with Danni, the only part of my gender I was sure about was that I wasn’t cis (and I wasn’t sure about anything else). We had several discussions where Danni patiently heard out my random fears or weird questions. I was able to discover my own answers either from YouTube videos they shared with me, or deeper delving with Danni, or a random thought that came to my mind in the midst of our conversations.
It’s been several years that I’ve been truly happy at who I see in the mirror and who I present to others in this world. A huge part of my becoming who I am and the great peace it brings me daily were because of Danni, their support, and their assistance when I laid the original groundwork for who I’ve become.

Background
Hi! My name is Danni Bennett Kyler. I have been active in gender politics since 2004, when gay marriage started getting attention. At that time I also learned about a man that had given birth. I didn't understand transgender people yet but I was drawn to these stories. I was an activist with Soulforce, Code Pink, and Occupy.
At Mary Baldwin, I studied Sexuality and Gender Studies. They were among my favorite classes I took in college. The stand out class though was Trans Communities. That class taught me so much and led me to question my own gender identity. I came out the following Spring. That was ten years ago
